A 2-year position is available for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in systems biology, biostatistics and bioinformatics. The individual will participate in genomics projects, conduct data mining/analysis and develop methods in computational and systems/network biology. The objectives of the study are to understand biological systems (such as signaling, gene regulation, protein interaction and metabolic networks) and to develop practical applications through network modeling, mathematical and statistical analysis, numerical simulation and integrating a large amount of internal and external experimental datasets, including genomic, functional genomic, microarray, proteomic and metabolomic data. The Postdoctoral fellow is expected to be able to develop new algorithms to make sense of these data and will interact with a multidisciplinary team of biologists, pathologists, clinicians, computer scientists and statisticians.
The position is available through the Departments of Computer Science, Medicine, and Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Candidates’ degrees can include PhD, MD, DSc, or equivalent. The anticipated start date is July 1st , 2009, but this is flexible.
