We are seeking a protein engineer to take part in structure guided in silico protein optimization projects, to actively apply our in-house protein engineering platform and to contribute to its development. The successful applicant for this position will start in the summer of 2009.
Required (Applicants will not be considered without the following skills)
• Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Bioinformatics or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience in rational protein design using computational protein modeling and/or bioinformatics tools.
• Thorough knowledge of structural biology and bioinformatics techniques.
• Practical experience using structural modeling, simulation and visualization packages (e.g. AMBER, ROSETTA, MOE, VMD etc.).
• Greater than one year of either industrial or academic postgraduate experience in a protein engineering related field.
• Extensive knowledge of antibodies and other protein therapeutics.
• Ability to communicate in the English language (spoken and written).Further skills (The following skills are an asset to qualified applicants)
• Experience in homology modeling and molecular docking.
• Knowledge of the Linux operating system.• Experience in one or more programming or scripting languages (Python, C, etc.).
• Knowledge about: PAS DHFR SCASalary and benefits are commensurate with experience and are highly competitive with industry standards.
